A Welcome From The Headmistress, Uppingham Cairo
Emma Webb
Uppingham Cairo opened in September 2024 as the first overseas school of Uppingham UK, one of the most distinguished and historic independent schools in the world. For the first time since 1584, there is another Uppingham. Like their fellow Uppinghamians in the UK, our pupils are inspired by the intellectual rigour of an academic curriculum that encourages exploration, critical analysis, calculated risk-taking, communication and teamwork. They are encouraged to use their imagination, to think creatively, to explore the world around them, to be ambitious and to strive for academic excellence. They will become team players, leaders and innovators. Most importantly, they will learn how to think, not what to think.

Beyond the classroom, Uppingham Cairo provides an exceptionally well-rounded education that embraces the arts, sport, community service and personal development. We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities and specialist sports academies that enable pupils to explore their passions, develop leadership skills and cultivate a sense of social responsibility. Uppingham Cairo is the first school to introduce the concept of Day Boarding in Egypt and the Middle East. This program offers pupils a full and enriching day of academic and personal development, ending at 7pm for Junior School pupils and 9pm for Senior School pupils. This optional program is tailored to help pupils fully engage with the many opportunities available to them beyond the academic day, and to manage their time efficiently. With state-of-the-art specialist facilities and the careful use of the latest educational technology, we create an atmosphere that promotes collaboration, innovation and personal growth. We invite you to join our warm and vibrant Uppingham Cairo community and embark on a transformational educational journey that will shape the future of your son or daughter. Together, we will unlock their potential and inspire them to become lifelong learners and the leaders of tomorrow.
